I have a grid in which the users can enter data directly. They also want the ability to just double click on a row to have the date and user id automatically filled in. (They want to control that rather than having it filled in automatically on a save.) I notice that when the information is entered directly, a little pencil symbol appears on the row to indicate that there are changes that need to be saved but that symbol does not appear when code fills in values. Is there something else that I can do in code that will cause that pencil to display so the user gets a reminder to save the data?

Thanks.
