I am going to stick my neck out and predict Florida not only beats Alabama today, they go on to win the national championship. Have seen them play a couple of times and they are scary. Since their only loss, by one point to Mississippi -- how on earth did Mississippi do that? -- they have been crushing everyone. And not humpty dumpties, either. Someone is going to have to play almost perfectly to beat them.
The game I would love to see is Florida against USC -- the classic matchup of irresistible force vs. immovable object. (Not that there's anything wrong with USC's offense or Florida'a defense). Unfortunately with the $$$ BCS $$$ system of deciding division I college football champions $$$, that seems highly unlikely to happen $$$. Did I mention it's all about money, not deciding it on the field like any other championship? (Including the other college football decisions -- what a crock to claim it's because "extra" games would interfere with academics).
Since I'm on a roll, it's also a crock that Notre Dame will be going to a bowl game. They finished 6-6 playing a schedule loaded with patsies. In the past three seasons they have played 17 games against teams that finished the year with a winning record, and lost 16 of them, by very large margins to the elite teams. Yet they can go to a bowl according to another of the NCAA's screwy rules. $$$ $$$ $$$.
