I took a look at some classes that We wrote that do similar things and we have the bindevent on the init of the "handler" object like what you are trying to do... so... even I did not follow my own advice of avoiding putting that code in the init in case the other object is not properly initialized. It seems I suffer the "do what I say not what I do" complex :)

Back to the problem at hand... I run out of ideas, sorry
