Mike,

I am replying to you David but I intend this for Mike.

What David and I are getting at is that you are in a position right now where you have to do some coding work. You can copy your class and paste it to a new class and then make the additions and deletions that you want, or you can fix the class design so it is better constructed and it will make enhancing things much easier later on as well as get you to learn some more about how to design good classes to allow for subclassing and allow for a more flexible class design.

Since you have to do some work anyway why not do the good work and fix the class design correctly the OOP way rather than copy and paste and fix your system design with chewing gum and spit (a slang phrase that means just patching things up and not really fixing what is broken).
