I do think the estimate of 3 million people losing their jobs if the big 3 go under is another of those we keep hearing and is bogus, though. It's probably not far off if you total up the number of people who work for the companies directly and companies who supply them. What it leaves out, though, is that they will not be out of work forever or even without good job prospects. It's not like Americans are going to stop buying cars. We just may be buying them from better run companies.
