>>Turns out ( god I love Google ) that with VisualSVN installed and a project open the tokens won't get saved. You have to open VS without opening a project, add the custom token to the list, then close VS. Next time you open up the token is there.

>>( VisualSVN worth checking out (little source control joke there). ) Free, extremely easy to install and at least for a single developer just trying to cover his tail look like a pretty good solution (certainly a better one than no source control :) )

>>Anyway, hope this saves somebody else a hassle (and encourages anyone who doesn't know about it to check out this task list token thing - really powerful. )

>You're kidding right? I do that all the time. Although I have to admit I answer questions I don't know the answer to for other people, not so much for myself. For some reason, sometimes they get really angry. Oh, well, you can't please everybody.

Yeah, i guess I should have stipulated that the three stars was for answering *correctly* for one of my favorite (okay, my top favorite) people. Otherwise, I throw out answers just to mess with people. Toughens 'em up. Encourage autodidactism (autodidactination? autodidiction ?)

>>>Export settings? Import settings? Why do you need to do that? Your initials should remain in the token list under Tools, Options without you needing to do anything further. Are you able to change other settings and have them persist between one VS session and the next?

Charles Hankey

Though a good deal is too strange to be believed, nothing is too strange to have happened.
- Thomas Hardy

Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm-- but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves.

-- T. S. Eliot
Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for lunch.
Liberty is a well-armed sheep contesting the vote.
- Ben Franklin

Pardon him, Theodotus. He is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature.
