Due to major problems with file corruption, we are attempting to switch from the Novell client to the Microsoft cleint. One teeny weeny problem...on about half the machines, when you go to add the microsoft client as the configuration, there is no services button!! Anyone ever seen this before? Is there any way to fix this short of re-installing windows? We are getting desparate.

Marcia,

Going from the Novell32 Client to the Microsoft Client seems to be particularly sticky. The last time I had to deal with it was about a year ago. If I remember right, what I ended up doing was deleting all Network Adapters from the Network Properties (and thus from Device Manager), replacing the NIC (so the Novell Client32 drivers wouldn't try to come back when I again setup the NIC -- you might can get the same effect by deleting any .inf files associated with the NIC in the hidden "inf" directory), go thru setup & configuration of NIC & Network Properties.

HTH,
Chuck
