>>>Man's got a point.
>>>
>>>I do think the estimate of 3 million people losing their jobs if the big 3 go under is another of those we keep hearing and is bogus, though. It's probably not far off if you total up the number of people who work for the companies directly and companies who supply them. What it leaves out, though, is that they will not be out of work forever or even without good job prospects. It's not like Americans are going to stop buying cars. We just may be buying them from better run companies.

>>No no - The man, like all in left politics, has a patch. The left operates by applying a patches upon patches until the method fails. Given enough time, socialism will collapse in upon itself. Then the nagging about the right begins again.
>>
>>It's interesting to remember how the left put up such a big stink about Sarah Palin not having enough experience. Now, Caroline Kennedy, is being promoted by the left to occupy a seat in the senate and I don't hear one mention of her complete lack of experience from anyone on the left.

>The left, the left, the left -- sigh. One of the things I have liked about Barack Obama from the start is he seems to offer us a way out of label politics. He may yet disappoint me -- the deck sure is stacked against him for economic reasons alone -- but I still believe we can follow him out of the finger pointing hole we have been in for the past 16 years and more.

>FWIW I am what would certainly be called leftist these days and have no enthusiasm whatsoever for Caroline Kennedy being named the junior senator from New York. She has not earned the position. She seems like a nice enough lady and has done some good works, as have many of the Kennedys. Let's just start a level or two below first and earn it. Senator from New York is not exactly head of the bake sale committee.

There is a very interesting article here:

I agree, however, I think if it were an actual election and she had to run and state her views on the issues and what policies or legislature she intended to implement she would get more support off the ground...
