DiffMerge does not work with binary files, but it is a very nice app for other text files.
I have an app called HackMan that does binary compares but the interface is not very good, but it works for now.

Also there is WinMerge at http://winmerge.org/ and the venerable WinDiff which is available from http://www.grigsoft.com/download-windiff.htm and probably other sites as well.
