>>>Thanks for the details. I still am not concerned that there is any kind of scandal here. Obviously there is one involving Blago -- who is trying to carry on as governor, the jerk -- but no evidence that Obama or his staff have been part of it. Obama said he has had no contact with Blago or his office, and that no one on his staff was involved in deal-making. This is consistent with Blago's complaint on the wiretap that all they had offered was "appreciation." If he had denied that Emanuel, or anyone else on his staff or behalf, had even talked to the governor's office, then I would be concerned.

>>If it were proved that either Emanuel/Obama was involved, it doubt that it would matter to those that support him. They gave a pass to Clinton on any number of scandals, and will do the same with Obama and his cronies. I said before, that you don't climb to the top on the back of the local Chicago political machine without some kind of skeletons in your closet. We just haven't uncovered the ones pertaining to the great deliverer yet. Integrity and ethics, it seems, don't mean anything to liberals.

>I live in Chicago, John, and I can tell you that Obama has kept his distance from the old style Illinois politicians from the start. He has used them when it has served his purposes, and has not gotten into feuds with anyone, but if he is one of them then I have been badly fooled. And will admit it if that is the case.

>Despite your abiding belief in labels and group stereotyping, it would make a huge difference to me if there have been any shenanigans between Obama and Blagojevich (or their staffs or representatives).

I've seen you label Bush and his supporters with huge broad brush strokes, how is that any different?
