For S&G's try this. Right after you create the cursor that's horking out, run the query again to a different name - then see if you can append from dbf(). I'm wondering if perhaps you have a sector trying to go bad and you just happen to be hitting it. Or, you said that you can select the cursor with no problem, have you browsed the entire file?
