We pay for those long summer nights at this time of year. Sun up at about 9:30 and down just after 4. But 6 months from now, at 0200 it will be twilight. :))

>>Not likely. :o) I did see your photos and I watched Open Range... :o)

>>My favorite spot in the Rockies is actually not near the camp, but rather in the San Juans...

>Your favorite is near Ouray, or Silverton? I like that area too, but I like the area around Gunnison and Crested Butte too. From Banff to Jasper is just unreal beauty. We saw moose grazing in the lakes, rocky mountain goats on the mountainside, near the road, etc. The water is ice blue, the nights very short (in summer) and the weather is nice too.<g>

>>>Don't say that! Tracy will get angry.

>>>>>You're right. There is a mountain drive between Jasper and Banff that is beyond belief. It doesn't get as cold in the mountains as it does here on the prairie. I'd love to have a place on a lake back in the woods in between a couple of rocky mountains. And, of course, a canoe.

>>>>>>I'm sure it would be to you! I camped out on a hunting trip in Colorado one year and it was -25 for the whole week we were there. That's some serious weather! We actually had a great time, even that cold. We had an outfitters tent with a wood stove and we kept it going. Cold like that, with the snow, in the mountains, is absolutely beautiful. However, I think it's best viewed from the warmth of a cabin. I now camp at the Best Western, where I can get a hot bath each night, and I also have to stay connected to my projects! Even with the cold, I'll bet you wouldn't trade the beauty olf Alberta for warmer weather!!!!
