I sometimes have to slow or stop for deer crossing the road, on my way home from work, in the dark. Those stats have made me a bit more chary of speeding along those roads now :-(

BTW, I swerved to avoid a pheasant the other week. Afterwards I thought "Idiot! Risk crashing the car for a bird that you could have had on the table!"
