The code works because I have no copy CuDed1Emp to CuDedEmp in it. Just created a cursor, checked it has values and selected the receiving cursor to update it with the contents of the created cursor.

Frankly speaking I believe the code needs to be reviewed anyway, it seems there are a number of extra timeconsuming steps which lead to nothing but using computer time, but that is far beyond this problem.

My code proofs, like we all state, you can create a cursor with data, create an otther cursor without data and with append from dbf('myCursor') you can update.
