>I just wanted a healthy baby, too. There was no preference either way. After Allie was born I was so flipped out I wanted Emily to be a girl, too, which indeed she was. There is nothing missing in me not having a son. I know some cultures are that way, but not me.

I come from a family of girls, there were 5 of us and no brothers (my poor Dad was really out-numbered). Consequently, when I became pregnant, I was really, really hoping for a boy. I was tired of all the sisterly melodrama! <g> My maternal grandmother was a nurse when she was younger, and she told me that she was 100% accurate in predicting the sex of the baby. She told me, when I was about in my 8th month, that I was definitely going to have a girl. Well, I was a little disappointed, but you know that all you really *do* care about is that the baby is healthy, whatever sex it is. Imagine my surprise when Adam was born (4 weeks early, breach and only 4 and a half pounds ... I had to have a C-section). I subsequently had two more sons after the first one. Guess I got my wish. And, between us sisters, there has been only one girl born ... all the rest have been boys (6 boys, 1 girl). I think that made my Dad happy. =0)
