I had a fellow in another country ask me "What is wrong with doing things the wrong way as long as the job gets done?". I told him a surgeon using a rusty saw instead of a scalpel would be fired. In most industries, I'd expect such a person to be fired.

Business may really want to save money, but I think they have to look at value, not just cost.
