Tim,

Check Varchar(MAX), Memo fields, SPT and Remote Views Thread #1284904. Looks like it's other way around. The VARCHAR(MAX) works correctly with the SQL Server ODBC Driver but not with the SQL Server Native Client.

In the SQL Server SELECT I did a CAST of the varchar (max) field to a char (8000) and it came down through SPT as a memo field. We can probably live with that as a work-around.
