Thanks for your suggestions (although they did not work). I even tried querying the database in a separate data session but even that did not work. Fortunately, the table I am querying is very small so I locked and unlocked each row and that permitted me to see the fresh data. I've never come up against this problem before. It's a strange one. My solution would not work with a table of any size so hopefully the table will not grow. Thanks again, Chaim
