If he's smart he won't get any more involved in the Middle East cesspool than he has to. I keep seeing headlines that Obama may inherit the Middle East crisis. Why is it our crisis? Who said?

>No worries. The big "O" will fix it when he take office... He promised he'll have a talk with them.

>>>These two groups of people have been hating each other for literally thousands of years. I see little hope for any lasting peace between them. Sometimes it's so tempting to just want to disengage ourselves from the whole mess and let them duke it out. It certainly isn't doing us any good to be constantly linked with Israel in world opinion. We obviously are not involved in the attacks on the Gaza Strip but protesters today reportedly were raving against "Israel and the U.S.A." Some great allies they are.

>>I don't understand how anyone can side with the Arabs. Israel has given, and given, and given, yet the Arabs do nothing but take, then attack. If I were King of the forest . . . .

>>>>Ahem, I told you so! How could the Israelis be so foolish as to give their sworn enemy the high ground of the Golan Heights? I predicted it would come to this, and it has. Israel needs to go ahead and kick the Palestinians to China, and be done with them. Of course, that's not gonna happen, because there's another much larger war waiting in the wings, unfortunately....<s>
