Reports can have private or default data sessions. Took me a while to figure that out--it's a checked option on the report menu in the report designer...

So if it's a default then yes, otherwise, no. One sticky side-effect (affect?) of report PD's IMO is telling it to limit it's report set. My solution (which is almost as old as long as I've been using VFP) is fairly hokey, but I'd be happy to share it with you if you need it.

In my forms, I call my set variables routine from the load event. Since I can't do that in reports, I do it in the DE beforeopentables event.

I agree about the PDs < s >.

I'm just not always sure how many properties are involved in establishing a private datasession. Today I set all datasessions to private and it worked fine. If a report is called from a form does it inherit the dataenvironment?
