I did not solve the problem but I found a workaround. But since you were to kind to take the time with this problem, I looked again at your suggestion and I'm trying to figure out how to apply it.

I looked at your code and didn't see any changes to what I thought were the relevant portions. So I asked you what you changed in my code to get it to work. You replied:

The code works because I have no copy CuDed1Emp to CuDedEmp in it. Just created a cursor, checked it has values and selected the receiving cursor to update it with the contents of the created cursor.

Could you tell me what section of my code involving CuDed1Emp and CuDedEmp you changed? What section was it in? If I can identify what changes you made, I will try to reproduce your results in my code.
