This whole story reminds me of a guy I know who is in charge of purchasing office stationary in a rather big company. At one point I received some advertising materials from a supplier of ink cartridges, and in one of the brochures I saw a recommendation for this ink from this big company signed by this guy I know. A few days later I met this guy, and told him thaI had noticed his name on the recommendation, and asked if the ink cartridges really were that good. His response was "he promised never to contact me again if I signed the recommendation, which was pre-written by the ink supplier"
