>I have a VFP application (VFP 5.0a Build 415) running under NT Workstation 4.0. The client is experiencing occasional crashes where FoxPro shuts down and you get an NT error message: Exception number: c0000005 (access violation). There is no pattern to when the app crashes -- at least as far as I can tell.

I was encouraged to concentrate my research in the video driver/printer driver areas. HP has suggested a couple of LaserJet drivers to try in place of the Laserjet 4si MX driver currently in place. (Though HP claims that all the NT drivers for LJ 3 and 4 series were written by MS!)

The woman at Microsoft tech support suggested using the generic VGA/SVGA driver in place of the ATI 3D RAGE PRO AGP driver that came with the Dell computers on which the app runs. (I checked ATI's web site -- I have the very latest driver.) My problem is that the app has large forms with many controls -- you cannot run it properly a resolution less than 1024 x 768. This rules out testing with the generic driver which only

Steve, I have ATI All-In-Wonder 4 Mb, and I have the problem just with VFP Report Designer - when I drag the controls on the report they leave traces on screen. (but traces disappear if the window is refreshed by minimizing and maximizing) I tried different ATI drivers also but with no luck.
No much help though...
