The class definition requires the guid specific to the version of word that is currently running. The application supports Word versions 8 through 12 and some workstations do have more than one version installed. Obviously, the version number is known at the point of instantiation, but how do I determine (or calculate) the guid? I thought I'd seen something on UT about that but can't find it now and a Google search was fruitless as well.

Did you try to disable the "Close" button on the toolbar and the file > close menu?
