>>>I'm sure hoping yesterday's games set a trend. Either for the road team to win, or for the birds to win. <g> (Actually, if the Eagles win, I'll be rooting for the Steelers, hoping to set up an all-PA SuperBowl.)

>>Funny that the Giants and Panthers were the class of the NFC all season long, then they both laid eggs at home in their first playoff games. Truly miserable performances by both teams. And the much-maligned Cardinals are not only in the conference championship game, they will play it at home. Wacky!
>
>For sure. And, of coure, if the rules weren't that conference champs are seeded ahead of wildcards regardless, the game would be in Philly.

>Lots of confidence here, given the Eagles drubbing of the Cards on Thanksgiving.

I'm sure they will both be favored next weekend. Not that being favored did anyone much good in this round.

What's even stranger to think is that if the Bears had managed to knock off the mighty Texans (cough, cough) in the last game, they would be in the playoffs instead of the Eagles. It worked out for the best IMO. The Eagles are a much, much better team than the Bears were.

I saw a funny line somewhere (espn.com?) about the Steelers' game. It said they won despite the disadvantages of playing at home and not being named after a bird ;-)
