>We developed a very nice and extensive framework with VFP that works as a Client Server application with a back end that can be anything but we prefer MySQL. We made several very successful apps with this framework but we hear often the usual critics about VFP that it is discontinued or outdated or will not be supported anymore soon. Although we are very happy with the framework we are now considering to rebuilt our framework in .NET.

Look at Strataframe and CSLA.net before embarking on writing your own. It's possible that either one may work well with MySQL already... I don't know if MM.Net (Mere Mortals) works with MySQL or not, but it wouldn't hurt to check.
