>>>Israel is not out to kill children. They just don't care if they do.
>>
>>Frankly, I think they care, but I think they care more about their own people being bombed by rockets from Gaza, and being surrounded by states that feel they have no right to exist.
>>
>>>Just in case you're wondering, I am not anti-semetic. But I really dislike the Israeli state. They seem to feel a need to keep the world temperature just below a boil. Which gives them yet something more in common with the Arab nations.
>>
>>I'm not either - I like Arabs. ;) That one always gets me in trouble with my mother.
>>
>>The truth, for me, is that I don't feel that Israel has a lot of options. Hamas has always been a terrorist organisation bent on the destruction of Israel, and now they are in charge - elected yet.
>>
>>Personally, I'm not a fan of how the situation went down back in '47, but it is what it is, and car bombs, rockets, and all the rest isn't likely to change it. I honestly believe that if the various Arab states truly wanted peace, there could be peace. But I don't see that happening in our lifetimes.
>>

>>>IMO it's an open question which nuclear war occurs first, Israel vs. Arabs or Pakistan vs. India.
>>
>>It's a horse race alright.

>>I mentioned it before, but it's worth repeating. Dave Barry once said that some day in the distant future when the earth is nothing but a ball of cinder hurtling into the sun, and all that is left alive are amoeba, the amoeba in the middle east will be at war.

>Could you imagine the response from this government if any nation, no matter how small, launched bombs which actually landed on our soil? Let alone hundreds of them or thousands. I don't think it would go on for years...

Israel could have choked off the supply of weapons to Hamas be seizing a narrow corridor of land between Egypt and the Gaza strip.
