Here is another similar situation: With SET POINT, you can specify that you want to use a comma instead of a point for the decimal separator. Comma is common in many European and Latin American countries.

But this affects output only; when writing commands, you still need to put the point. It is better the way it it, since you need less conditionals or checks.
