It's not good. On the other hand, it may be better than a lot of other places right now. A lot of jobs are being lost because of the awful downturn in the auto sector, but our banks are in far better shape than banks elsewhere. Loans, of course, have tightened up, and in spite of the government Finance Minister telling the banks to be more free with their lending, the banks have so far refused to be pushed.

Our economy is going through hard times just like everyone else, but so far, I don't think it's as bad as it might have been. We still have the problem of unrealistic unions, though. People are losing their jobs, companies going under, and these folks are making demands and threatening strikes for more money etc.

Bottom line: could be worse, but probably won't get better for a while.
