Why do you think the Americans supported the forming of the country Israel in 1947? They wanted to get them as far away from USA as possible. :-)>
>Being Jewish myself, I find this remark stupid, offensive, highly insulting and not at all funny even if you meant it as a joke. Unless you are Jewish, making Jewish jokes is a form of anti-semitism.
Hi Marcia
I think you are taking it a bit to far.
Real anti-semitisam has far deeper roots and centuries long history. Starting from
early christianity time and biblical scripts (falsehoods), via darknnesses of middle ages and all the way to ww2 and nazi Holocaust.
To accuse someone of being anti-semit would imply person's deep hatred that might be rooted party in religion, partly in badly predgidist upbringing, and/or belonging to some KKK or right-wing cookoo nazi party or intelectual group.
Real Anti-semitisam is something that defenetely needs to be condemned and fought against, but when people fling it without
any bases, on meaningless joke, or whenever someone publicly disagree with Israel policies, then this actualy de-valuate very idea
of those who fought against nacisam, racisam, anti-semitisam throughout the history.
When word 'anti-semit' is thrown indiscriminately without any bases, then this is in my opinion very deep insult to a person
that it is used against, and up to the point insult to the intelligence of person who used it without really realising
full meaning of that word.
If you say anti-semit to some KKK rally member you might be right on the mark, but in this case with Tore,
I believe you got it all totally wrong.
With all due respect
