I was surprised to read last night, in an article about Jewish inspectors of kosher food coming from China, that there are only 3000 Jewish people in all of China. There used to be more but most of them left after WW II for Israel, the U.S., or Australia. The writer noted that there are more than 3000 in her apartment building in NYC.
