Thanks for comfirming that Marcia. I was beginning to wonder about my sanity! The code you posted is exactly what I have but that's not surprising since "my" code came from your office automation download!

It's hard to tell whether Word 2007 is different "by design", is broken, or is just out to get me. A few of the aberrations have been cleared up by passing additional, formerly optional, parameters. I thought there might be new parameters for some methods. VbaWd10.chm seems to be the latest version and it is older than Word 2007. I contacted a friend at Microsoft to see if there might be internal documentation showing them but there isn't. The irony is that the client doesn't even have 2007--and I'm recommending to them and anyone else who cares that they NOT upgrade, especially if they do any type of automation. It's the challenges that keep this business interesting and I've never been accused of giving up easily but I am crying "Uncle!" on this one. I just ordered a copy of Word 2000 on eBay.
