>With a compiled application, when sending a new DLL, is there a way to assure that the Web site will always restart ok? Using a DLL is more secure but I have faced the situation twice so far that the Web site doesn't restart. I have to force a IISRESET /RESTART.
In theory the new DLL should take over seamlessly for any new requests - but there's anecdotal evidence to the contrary. If you're using 2003 you can just recycle the specific application pool - less disruptive than stopping IIS altogether......
