>>>By the way....you and I never talked about the Memphis meltdown last April. :)
>>>
>>>What a game...when Chalmers drained the trey at the end of regulation, I screamed and shouted so loudly that our cats hid under the bed for hours. Even when KU was down by 8 with 2 minutes to go, I knew they'd find a way to come back.
>>>
>>>Of course, the REAL victory was KU bitch-slapping UNC in the semis. (That's what I call a win-win situation....seeing my favorite team win and seeing an ACC team get the crap kicked out of them).
>>>
>>>I have the DVD of both games - my favorite moment of the UNC game was when Brandon Rush hit a 3-pointer to make it 40-12, and Billy Packer shouted out, "THIS GAME....IS OVER". I was watching the game in a hotel in Boston that night - the most fun I've ever had in a hotel room alone.

>>Yeah, our super duper point guard not fouling your guy as soon as he got the ball, and the fact that our guys couldn't buy a free throw, did us in. Oh well, I'll take finishing second, but it would be sweet if we could win the whole thing. I'm still in "just wait til next year" mode for my Broncos.... Who is your NFL team? Pittsburgh or Philly?

>I said the same thing about the non-foul at the time. But if you haven't been following Derrick Rose's pro career, it is going even better and faster than anticipated. This kid (he's still only 19 or 20) is the real deal. Despite the lottery odds the Bulls got the #1 pick and they grabbed him. He has played so well he is their unquestioned leader, enough so to marginalize formerly successful NBA guards like Larry Hughes and Kirk Hinrich. Opponents routinely compliment him, guys like Chris Paul. I really feel lucky this guy is playing on my team. He seems to have a good head on his shoulders, too. Some are just blessed.

No doubt he is the real deal, he just made a mistake. We've got another one now - Tyreke Evans. He's going down the same path as Derrick - slow start, then turning into a wizard. Problem is, we only get them for 1 season. Anyway, we've got the number 1 guy in the country signed for next year already!
