>Are you sure the table is not included into the executable?

This is not a standalone executable, so tables are not included. I have checked the permissions for both the table and the directory. The program runs without a problem when run from an XP-system PC, but when run from a PC using 2000 (and only in that situation), it defines the table as a read-only cursor and crashes when it attempts to update.
I have tested the executable by letting it open the table and browse, and it shows it to be a cursor, which it is not.
I've tried different ways to update, using the UPDATE command as well as the REPLACE, trying the latter on individual records as well as a REPLACE ALL. Nothing works.
One possible factor I've just been informed of is that these are native dBase tables (and I do not have the option of converting them to Fox). I'm considering passing some parameters to a dBase program and just letting it do the update; I'd rather find something more elegant.
Any ideas?
