>>>Actually that is how it works (indirectly). If the majority of americans thought that murder was ok we would have our congressmen create a law to make it legal. What a wonderful country!
>>>
>>You know I head the other day that the civil rights act was opposed by over 70% of the country, but congress passed it anyway. Slavery was supported by well over 70% of the country at one time and the Supreme Court even ruled it was the law of the land. My point is that I thank God we aren't a country ruled by the polls. Most people haven't a clue, they are followers who don't think for themselves. By definition there are far fewer leaders than followers and that's one reason I try to vote for those with character. I don't want someone who is just like me in the White House, Senate or House. I want someone who is a cut above. (Granted we don't seem to get that very much, but that's still my wish.)

>Wow, talk about a false analogy! Let's compare some blow jobs and purjury to civil rights and slavery!
>
>I realize that that wasn't the analogy you were trying to make. But morality is matter of personal opinion. I think the american people can be entitled to their opinion every now and again.

>How would you react if someone like Paula Jones sued you for sexual harassment? Have you ever been accused of sexual harassment when it didn't happen? When the accuser has something to gain? How would you feel? Helpless? Angry? Used?

You know what? I actually was accused of rape while in the military. I was extremely guilty until I proved innocent. CID asked her to take a lie detector and she failed, I passed because I didn't rape her. It was consentual but she had other reasons for saying what she said. Women should be careful when trying to get at someone, granted, but neither you nor I were in the room with Clintax or Jones. None of us know if he dropped trou or not.

The point being, It was trivial to most of us, me included, the idea of the pres gettin some spooty, but since it was trivial, there should be no basis to lie! Tell the truth. Don't stand with blatant arrogance and lie! No one really cared anyway. But seven months later...paaleeeeze!
>
>To me, this is simply another case of the sexual harassment laws being used by women who don't deserve the protection it provides.

I can't touch this.
