>>I have a grid that one of the columns is based on a memo field. I like the default of putting 'Memo'(with a capital M)in the field if there was data in it and then 'memo' if not. I have a weird thing happening. I added a filter statement to a table (which is a different table than the grid is based upon) in the load event of the form and then the word 'Memo' is replaced with as much text of the memo field as will fit. As soon as I remove the filter statement from the Load event then the grid cell will show the word "Memo" again. I have been racking my brains on this one and have no idea what to try next.

>Generally speaking grids don't like filters, though it's not enough to explain your problem :). You can probably use button (dynamic- visible/enabled only if memo exists) in this grid column with caption="Memo", at least here you will not get problem, by sure.
I can't even seem to get a button or label to show the caption when in the grid...maybe I'm missing something here. Also you do realize that I'm using the filter on a table that has nothing to do with the grid, right?
Any other ideas....
Thanks,
