>>>As you might have heard, my wife and I are expecting. This was a calculated decision for us, as we wanted to make sure we were in the right place financially. If all children are entitled to a decent standard of living no matter what, what is keeping us from popping out several children? Heck, the responsibility isn't on us.

>>I'm in favor of people having children only when they're financially and emotionally ready to do so. But plenty of people don't do that. The children shouldn't pay for the parents' irresponsibility. No child should go hungry or uneducated or without proper medical care, no matter who his or her parents are.

That's pretty cold. Instead of a newborn, considering the family that's been managing, but now something has gone wrong. Dad got sick or Mom lost her job or something like that. Should these people have to give up their children? Or, turning that around the other way, should these children be separated from their parents?
