But if the parents wants to keep the child, I will also respect that. There's more than money involved in having a child.

However, both you and Tamar have made the point that it is unfair for children not to have a quality of life style because their parents can't afford them. I contend that deciding to keep a child even though a couple knows that they cannot afford to raise it is an immature, selfish and irresponsible decision - proof that those people should not be allowed to raise children because they are incapable of putting the child's needs before their own.

A TV with the other guy and now a house. We're talking about human beings, not things.

Actually, I thought we were talking about personal responsibily here. No one is entitled to have anything that they cannot be responsible for. Part of that responsibility means that one can afford the mortgage payments or that one can afford to raise the child.


I agree that having a child is not a decision that should be made without thinking. But letting a child go to school on an empty stomach just to punish the parents to have kept the child is not a good solution IMHO.

We have to do something to make people behave in a more responsible fashion.
