>>>>>Do you do grocery shopping? Everytime I go in there, I see people with WIC and Foodstamp cards buying food that makes my mouth water. I wish that I could spend my money on the choice steaks, etc. But I can't, so I live within my means.

>>>I know. I was just responding to Tamar's silly position that welfare people don't abuse the system.
>>
>>And you are taking the silly position that all welfare people abuse the system. In all systems, there will be people who 'play' them for whatever they can get from them. Unfortunately, due to budget cuts, most Departments/Agencies do not have the manpower to investigate as thoroughly as they should so the situation becomes absurd.
>>
>>I have also seen the people who are buying chips, sodas, baloney and mac and cheese with Food Stamps, but I have also seen as many, or more, buying fresh meats (chicken and pork mostly, some beef) and fresh vegatables and milk with Food Stamps. I think the difference comes from being taught to eat properly as a child and not being raised on junk food.

>No where in my statement did I use the word ALL..... I'll bet you that welfare fraud (gut feeling) is above 50%.

While you didn't specifically type the word, the inference was there. And I'll bet that, if you could review data, you'd find that welfare fraud is somewhere around 5%
