Thanks Sergey, I really don't "need" do be doing what I tried, it was an attempt to validate that the control could be created (properly installed on the workstation) since I'm changing controls. It's a post install modification that I register control at application start up, but user permissions can can that process to fail. If the new control is not registered, then I have to make sure and display the old control and not the new one.
