Can you set the PLACEMENT of a report var in XtrReports?

I need to strike preprinted contracts in an upcoming app and have put it off because of this. Sometimes the finance company will change the verbage on the form and the movement of the vars is required. So an X,Y coordinate would make my life real easy. Is that XML layout able to log absolute position in a legal paper size environment?

This is furniture sales / auto sales type of contracts.

If anyone knows how to do this with another product I am all eyes in reading about it.
