"The normal thing" is to restore the whole table (DBF, FPT and CDX). Restoring only FPT can leave the table in corrupted state.

Depending on a type of corruption, you can scan through the table and copy records out one by one using SCATTER/GATHER wrapped in TRY...ENDTRY.
