If the resize is done automatically, it would give some weird result when the proper ratio would not be set for the 320x240 dimension. So, this could create a blank area at the bottom. Facebook does this automatically. But, to avoid that, they simply resize for what it could. Thus, some image ends up having a different dimension than the other one.
