>With a compiled application, when sending a new DLL, is there a way to assure that the Web site will always restart ok? Using a DLL is more secure but I have faced the situation twice so far that the Web site doesn't restart. I have to force a IISRESET /RESTART.

I think I'm wrong about recycling the application pool being less disruptive than restarting the web site.

I just did a test which shows that session state is maintained when the web site is stopped/restarted but lost when the app pool is recycled !
