Yeah but to the one taking the oath, there may be something/someone he considers more valuable and sacred.
What he considers most sacred is all that matters when he is the one taking the oath...he's the only one who is asked keep his oath, not us, so it doesn't matter what's of value to anyone else.

Obama seems to have charished his grandmother very much. I think he should have took his oath on her name, not the Bible. That way I know he promised on the name of someone he honors and values.
