I understand your point. In a multicultural country like US perhaps more apropriate thing to do would be to swear on a constitution
or flag or something else that sybolises country as whole rather then single religious group.

However, can't resist to ask you <s>;
What is your take on women and Christianity for instance? Why female can't become Pope or at least ArchiBishop?
