I understand the point. I think we could add a dropdown list control in the message toolbar with several options. This could be named Retrieve with several choices. We could have:

View the entire thread (this would replace the icon we have presently)
View the entire thread from this message (this would replace the icon we have presently)
List all messages in this thread
List all messages in this thread by most recent
View the entire thread in the map frame
View the entire thread from this message in the map frame
List all messages in this thread in the map frame
List all messages in this thread by most recent in the map frame

This is just a draft. But, I think this would be relevant. It think the removal of the two icons for View the entire thread would be necessary as we have too much icons in there. Also, as this would be the number 1 choice in the list, then it would still be easy of access.

Anyone interested might suggest new kind of list in regards to a thread or any other suggestions in regards to this.
