There are still gun laws. The fact that some people own guns legally doesn't mean you cannot enforce laws about possessing and using guns illegally. the same people who don't want any guns want catch-and-release on people found committing crimes while possessing a gun or possessing a gun in some other manner that is illegal. I would suggest we first enforce laws that are there.
Personally, I think ANY crime committed while possessing a gun illegally (speeding - concealed pistol - no permit ) should have the jailhouse fall down on you.
If you are really serious about reducing guns and people's feeling a need for them, enforce laws in ways that make it clear that using guns illegally means the permanent end of your freedom.
