The difference is, you already have a job - even if you work for yourself - you're looking for work, as opposed to a position. And having just gone through the process, I can tell you that Tamar is correct and that many 'jobs' are posted just to swell ranks in the Job Shop data files. As an example, the Health Department posted a contract (in fact, the contract was for about 1/3 of my job responsibilities when I worked there) and I got 16 (no, I'm not kidding) contacts for that one contract. That should give you an idea about how many REAL jobs are out there versus how many get posted.

Also, when I was jobhunting, I was seriously considering a contract in Fort Worth (the equivalent of Colombus for you) for a rate that wasn't enough to support the 2 households I would have to support until we could sell the house here. According to your statements, I should have taken the contract anyway because 'any money is better than no money'. And then your snarky (at least that how it comes across) "people would rather go on welfare than take a job" and "there a plenty of jobs if people REALLY want them" is insulting in the extreme.

>No, you've been project hunting, not job hunting...

>I honestly do not see what the difference is - a project ends and I have no more money coming in, so I have to find a way to earn some more. Please explain the difference. Obviously I am too stupid to figure out what it is you're trying to tell me.

>but I give up, obviously you're right and the rest of us are just too stupid to figure out what it is you're trying to tell us.

>I do not understand why you infer that I think you are stupid merely because I disagree with you. I have never implied such a thing. It is obvious that neither one of us is going to change the other's opinion, but that is no reason to get angry and imagine insults.
